***NEW PROGRESSIVE LESSON SERIES THIS MONTH***
Balboa | Kadie & Joe Pangburn
This month’s progressive series will focus the magic of Balboa! Over the next 5 weeks, Kadie & Joe will walk us through the fundamentals of both Balboa and Bal Swing, including footwork, connection and some exciting movements. This series will be fun and accessible for anyone to join regardless of skill level because Balboa is for everyone and we love opportunities to practice our basics.
What is Balboa??
Balboa is a super fun and cozy close embrace dance with smaller steps that originated on the crowded dance floors of Southern California during the 1920s. Eventually this close embrace dance evolved to make room for some fun open position moves, better known today as Bal Swing. While this dance is typically danced to faster songs, Balboa can be danced to just about every tempo.
Note: To get the most out of this series, we highly recommend attending all 5 weeks as the material will on itself from week to week.

Kadie & Joe are known for their cuddly, partner-centric dancing. With a strong passion for connection and communication, they strive to make every dance a two-way conversation that promotes both individuality and collaboration between each other and the music.
For the past 15 years, the two have been passionately studying, preserving and sharing their love of Balboa, both as local teachers/mentors and international instructors.
As instructors they are known for their ability to break down complex concepts into easily understood ideas. They enjoy sharing their love for balboa by bringing fun, laughter and the occasional spontaneous song into the classroom.
